Apples & Cider Update
Due to the lack of chilling hours this past winter, our fruit trees unfortunately bore less fruit this year. Chilling hours are when trees are exposed to colder temperatures in the winter during their dormancy; this is a vital process for many fruit trees to properly set fruit.
We have had highs and lows of fruit production in the past, but this was a particularly hard year. Many of our fruit trees bore a significant amount less of fruit this year, and that includes our apple trees. Unfortunately having less apples means we were very limited in our cider production this year and will sell out early this season.
We are working on alternative drink options and are trying to partner with other farms at this time. Although we will sell out of our bottled cider soon, we are saving some cider to make sure we continue to have apple cider donuts throughout our holiday events.
