Staff Led Field Trips
Fall field trips are fully booked and waitlist is full.
Check back in early January to book your spot for Spring field trips! We do not have a waitlist for Spring.
Staff Led Field Trips are geared towards K-3rd grade.
Students are $5 each and parents/chaperones are $5+ fees each for the tour. Staff teachers are free!
*Processing and fees includes $0.99 per chaperone ticket and 3.5% of the transaction total.*
Staff Led Field trips have 3 three rotations:
- Educational presentations on how food is grown, bee hives, and chickens
- Wagon ride
- Picking in-season fruits or vegetables In fall students pick pumpkins, in spring they pick carrots, based on availability of produce.
- Private/Charter Schools are reserved for 9AM slots & CCSD Schools are reserved for 10AM slots
- Bus reimbursement grants are available for yellow CCSD busses up to $500 per field trip. We will not reimburse for charter/private busses. CCSD Bus Grant Fall 2023
- You need as many “tickets” as the combined number of students, teachers, and parents/chaperones that are in your group.
Include the total number of parents even if the parents will be paying for themselves. Parents or chaperones not accounted for will either not be permitted or need to pay $5+fees per person. - Special Education groups, have questions, or need a bus grant application? - Payment IN FULL by credit card/debit required at the time of booking.
- Minimum group size of 50 and a maximum group size of 150.
- Recommended chaperone ratio is 1 adult : 10 students due to limited space. When reserving indicate ALL chaperones even if not being paid by the school. Unless indicated special circumstances, we cannot allow a chaperone ratio of greater than 1 adult : 7 kids, as we need as many students possible to experience the field trip and wagon ride.
- 10AM time slot is for CCSD schools ONLY due to bussing. If another school other than CCSD books at 10AM, they will be canceled and refunded.
- 9AM time slot is reserved for Private and Charter Schools.
- Ensure bussing/transportation is available on your desired date through your administration.
- Field trips are 1.5 hours long and if you like you can bring a sack lunch and stay an extra 30 min.
Home school groups or a pre-schools please either come on a day we are open to the public, or call us to discuss the program.
- Porta potties are available for restrooms.
- Parking is free on the street for the busses and in the lot across the street for cars.

Each student should bring:
- A cold water bottle as the field trip is outside with little shade.
- Closed toed shoes, hats, sunscreen, and dress for the weather.
- Lunch or snacks if school plans to stay for lunch.

Your field trip will consist of three rotations:
1) an educational presentation about fruit and vegetables

3) picking in-season fruits or vegetables to take home & viewing our chickens and visual beehive.

A limited concession stand will be available after trip. Not all items may be available.

About 1.5 hours. If your group chooses to bring a sack lunch at the end of your tour, plan for an extra half hour.

The $5+fee helps pay for seeds, fertilizer, and labor to grow the carrots or pumpkins. It also helps pay for the diesel for the wagon rides, staff time for our terrific presenters, and credit card/ticketing processing fees.
In Fall, we offer to pour a glass of apple cider for an additional fee of $1 per person.

Spring field trips are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in April & May.
Fall field trips are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in September, October, and November.
A water bottle is strongly encouraged, as the kids may run through the maze, and during the warmer months, the kids get thirsty.

No, we are not open on field trip days. We will have some items for purchase. Items will depend on availability and change weekly. We will set up a small concession stand with a limited amount of items. Students can purchase items if they choose.
Yes, we have dozens of picnic tables under a shade shelter.
Absolutely! If your group is smaller than 50 or does not fit our age guidelines, we encourage unguided tours on the days that we are open for business. Entrance to the orchard is free, wagon rides are not usually available. You are welcome to use our picnic tables as first come first serve basis.
During normal business hours we have our farm stand, concessions and u-pick seasonal produce. You may pick produce and pay by the pound.
