Gilcrease Orchard Staff can guide your group on a walking tour!

Come stroll and learn with us! Our friendly staff is ready to lead your group on a fun and informative walking tour through the orchard.

Available in Winter & Spring

Perfect for cooler months, these tours are tailored for community groups like:

  • Senior centers
  • Scout troops
  • Homeschool explorers
  • Non-profit organizations

To keep things interactive and enjoyable, tours are limited to 50 participants or fewer.

Tour Details:

  • Group Size: 50 people max
  • Duration: 1.25 – 1.5 hours
  • Timing:
    • Winter: Mid-day/afternoon
    • Spring: Mornings/mid-day
    • Summer: Early mornings (7-8 AM latest due to heat)
    • Fall: Not available during Fall Harvest. Visit our website for harvest group information.
  • What to Expect on Your Tour: Guided tours offer a behind-the-scenes look at life on the orchard! Here’s what your group can typically enjoy:
    • A brief history overview at our outdoor amphitheater
    • Visits to the beehive and chicken coop
    • Walks through fields with insights into seasonal crops and orchard operations
    • Crop varieties and availability change with the seasons. Your tour coordinator will share what is currently available for purchase during your visit. 
 

What’s to See

The orchard is always changing with the seasons!

  • Chicken Coop: Always visible year round
  • Beehive: May or may not have live bees depending upon the season
  • Crops: check out Crop Harvest Calendar to see what’s growing
  • Flower Fields: Bloom for a limited time and may not be in season during your visit

 

Be Prepared

Get ready for an outdoor adventure! 

  • Bring plenty of water!
  • Wear closed-toed shoes and dress for the sun and weather as you’ll be walking on uneven surfaces like gravel, mulch, and in fields
  • Expect to walk between 0.5 to 1.5 miles
  • We offer portable restrooms with baby changing stations
  • Feel free to bring a wagon for extra supplies like water or snacks

 

Picnic Area

  • Our picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • If anyone in your group has dietary restrictions and is bringing their own  food, please let us know
